The Independent Web Creators of Canada (IWCC), is a non-profit association of web content creators that supports the needs and activities of independent, creator driven and audience focused serialized productions. We seek to inform stakeholders and build relationships to help create better frameworks for people to access a democratized digital media. We do this through informing and building relationships with other associations, guilds and governing bodies and connecting artists with valuable resources.
In true indie spirit, we are a volunteer-run arts organization looking to expand with more like-minded people inspired to take on leadership roles and help run the ship producing the multi-day festival event in late May, 2018. We are seeking a few skilled individuals to hold leading roles as Festival Director / Producer and other supervising roles, and to act as an ambassador for the T.O. WebFest brand, advocating to support the objectives of the IWCC. Candidates should be able to work independently while also leading a team, and have a good grasp of the media landscape in Canada. The positions come with access to the IWCC’s existing network of professional resources, administrative infrastructure, and some highly talented production staff in need of direction. Seeking a passionate worker familiar with the digital space, to be largely responsible for all programming aspects of the 5th annual web content festival, including booking keynote speakers, design engaging panel/workshop programming to benefit our patrons of content creators and enthusiasts, assist in funding grant writing related to the festival programming, and do be involved in the competition submission guidelines and selection/awards process.
Sponsorships & Partnerships
Seeking a well connected business strategist to develop, implement and manage appropriate partner strategies and relationships, expanding the international scope of brands attached to the festival through corporate sponsorship, integrated brand experiences, and affiliate marketing through meaningful partnerships.
Marketing (social media + print media) & PR
This crew will be in charge of developing cost effective marketing strategies for all potential audience groups, to ultimately raise awareness and drive sales to T.O. WebFest. This includes designing (or supervising designs of) visual elements, video content, and written communications, and share all announcements on multiple social media platforms, and with industry media outlets. Selected candidates will also manage digital and print ad buys, compose and disseminate press releases and attract news media to our festival for coverage and/or interviews with creators and festival leaders.
