Elamin Abdelmahmoud is the social media editor for BuzzFeed Canada. He’s interested in messing around with the weird role social media is starting to play in telling news and stories. Before BuzzFeed, he handled social media for TVO’s Current Affairs and Documentaries. He also worked on The Agenda with Steve Paikin and CBC’s The National. Tara Hunt has over 17 years experience in market research and strategy on both client and agency side. She is an author of one of the first books published internationally on how the social web is changing marketing [The Whuffie Factor: 2009]. It’s been released in seven languages worldwide, has been quoted in dozens books and articles, spoken at over 150 conferences, was named one of 2013's Entrepreneurial Women to Watch by Entrepreneur Magazine, and one of the Most Influential Women in Technology in Fast Company.
She not only talks the talk of building community and creating content online, she also walks the walk. She is a LinkedIN Influencer, followed by over 140,000 people. Her Slideshare presentations have been viewed over 2.5 million times. She is in the top 5% of Twitter users worldwide with over 52,000 followers.
She is one of the most respected and cited thought leaders in audience development — how to understand the audience, what delights them, what they will respond to, and where/when/how to reach them. Carlos is the Vice President of Audience Development at Boat Rocker Media leading the digital content team to develop audience engagement and growth strategies for Boat Rocker's many properties and divisions.

He’s worked in top Canadian media advertising agencies for 13 years in various traditional and digital media strategy roles, working with national brands
Dan Speerin (Moderator)
Dan Speerin is the Vice President of the IWCC and also serves as our Director of Communications. In his creator life Dan is the lone Canadian host on The Young Turks Network. His most surreal social moment to date was having his twitter snark quoted on the floor of Canada's House of Commons to Stephen Harper. Dan has also been a pundit on Millennial and digital culture and has created digital content for Rogers, Bell, CBC and VH1 among others. He's spent too many hours of his life in the boardrooms of Canadian media companies, explaining how the internet works.
